NCA Chairman Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Congratulatory Message on Occasion of Eid al-Adha 2013

In the name of God, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful

Dear Muslims around the world, my fellow Compatriots,

I wish to congratulate you all the sacred and festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and pray that Almighty Allah bless you with peace, prosperity and happiness.

On this special occasion, we express our devotion and appreciation to the Almighty, in which Muslims around the world come together in reflection, unity and solidarity, providing to worthy causes and remembering those in need.

This year Eid-ul-Adha comes at an important moment, as our beloved country Afghanistan is in the process of achieving two important milestones: assuming security responsibilities from international forces to our national security forces; and the political transition with the up-coming Afghan Presidential Elections, which will enable our people to determine their future political destiny.

Both events will prove instrumental for the future security and stability of our country. On this occasion, I wish for a peaceful, secure and prosperous Afghanistan. I also call on the Taliban, who continue to wage a senseless war on the Afghan nation to lay down their arms, engage in the national reconciliation process, and work for Afghanistan’s dignity and prosperity. It is only through peace and security, with a strong sense of national unity, that we can build a better Afghanistan for our present and future generation.

I once again congratulate all Muslims around the world and the people of Afghanistan on this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and convey my best wishes for your success, prosperity and good health. May peace and blessings of the Almighty Allah be with you upon this Eid.

Warm regards

October 14, 2013 – Kabul, Afghanistan
