Finally, The Impasse Has Broken and The People Have Become Victorious

Finally, during the most sensitive and crisis-stricken moment, the groups that were involved in the fraud have accepted the will of the people which has caused the end of the impasse.

Without doubt, the cause of this was weeks of petitioning and demanding the rights of the people by the Reform and Partnership team and the cooperation of the UN and the government of the United States of Afghanistan.

John Kerry at the joint press conference during Saturday night with Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Dr. Ashraf Ghani, and Jan Kobish’s presence stressed that in order to save Afghanistan from a crisis and to revive unity amongst the people, a serious and immediate investigation should happen in order to identify the fraudulent votes.  Additionally, he said that both candidates and the out-going President have agreed upon this solution in order to save Afghanistan and to act according to the will of the people and the interests of the country.

John Kerry explained that both parties have agreed to accept the outcome of the audit and that both collectively will form a national unity government.

All boxes will be brought to Kabul and the process will be controlled by ISAF and ANA. The audit itself will be administered by international experts and observers with the presence of both team’s observers.

Afterwards, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah opened his remarks by thanking the people for defending their inalienable right and showing courage, perseverance, and awareness throughout this phase. In addition, he expressed his gratitude towards the international community, United Nations and Secretary John Kerry for helping the Reform and Partnership team in saving Afghanistan and its presidential election.
