The Reform and Partnership Team has Suspended All Activities at the Electoral Commissions

Today, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a press conference announced that since the electoral commissions have failed to cooperate with the Reform and Partnership team and that the IEC and ECC’s activities is biased, all communication and activities will be suspended until our demands are met and serious changes come about.

In addition, Dr. Abdullah demanded that the whole vote counting process should be halted and that the electoral commissions have lost its legitimacy for not complying with the laws of this land and working in favor of one candidate. He has lost the trust and confidence he had for the two commissions and that at this stage only a neutral third party such as the UN can save Afghanistan’s presidential election and impartially investigate and invalidate the fraud committed in favor of Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.

Dr. Abdullah stressed that lying to everyone and rigging the election this is an insult to the citizens of Afghanistan, who sacrificed so much and enthusiastically participated and voted in this process. Dr. Abdullah stated that President Karzai was involved in this large-scale fraud and that he did not keep his neutrality as he promised. Dr. Abdullah warned that if change and reform is not brought soon then this country will slip into a political crisis and the people will be provoked to take action against all those who have cheated the people and are involved in the large-scale fraud.

This is Dr. Abdullah’s third press conference after Saturday’s election. During his last press conference he demanded the suspension to Zia-ul Haq Amarkhel from his position at the IEC and demanded the invalidation of the stuffed ballot-boxes from five eastern provinces.
